THE PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION
“The purpose of the Association is to be an ecclesial expression of the unity
in Christ of the member-Monasteries and a means to preserve and further communion
within the Teresian Carmelite vocation at the service of the Church. It fulfils
this purpose by:
- fostering fidelity to the Teresian charism and the genuine spirit of the contemplative
life in accordance with our Rule and Constitutions;
- promoting understanding, trust and friendship between the member-Monasteries
and among all Carmelite Monasteries;
- providing a means of communication between the member-Monasteries for the
exchange of information and experience concerning the Teresian way of life in
the context of our times and particular cultures;
- helping the member-Monasteries develop an integrated and effective formation
process, including both initial and ongoing formation.
- facilitating mutual assistance in the form of financial help, personnel, material
resources etc. Among the member-Monasteries;
